At approximately 10 AM on Tuesday, five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel suffered injuries following a severe head-on collision between a truck and a mini-truck carrying CRPF members. This incident took place at Levdora in the Qazigund area, along the busy Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, according to official reports.
The collision involved the CRPF vehicle and an oncoming truck, which also led to injuries for the truck’s driver and conductor. Prompt action by local authorities ensured that the injured were swiftly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
As per hospital sources, the condition of all injured individuals stabilised after receiving prompt medical attention. Officials confirmed that four of the injured are officers from the CRPF, highlighting the risks faced by security personnel on duty.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains a critical route for movement and logistics in the region. It frequently witnesses accidents due to heavy traffic and challenging weather conditions. Authorities are re-evaluating safety protocols on this highway to prevent such occurrences in the future.
