Diksha Fails to Make First Cut in Four Months at Sharma T-20 Tournament in Scandinavia

Helsingborg (Sweden), June 8 : Diksha Dagar faced her first cut miss since February this year as she bowed out early in the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed Open.

Over two days, Diksha shot rounds of 75 and 73, falling well short of the cut line, which was set at 2-under while she stood at 4-over. Despite three birdies in the second round, she also endured four bogeys. On the opening day, she managed one birdie but struggled with three bogeys.

This marks Olympic-bound Diksha’s second missed cut this season, although she has notched three top-10 finishes.

Meanwhile, Shubhankar Sharma, who made a strong start in the first round with three birdies, replicated his performance with a 69 in the second round. Consistently recording five birdies against two bogeys in both rounds, he ended the day tied at 20th place, standing at 6-under.

Leading the field is Swede Sebastian Söderberg with an impressive 63-66, totaling 15-under, well ahead of his competitors. Scott Jamieson (67-65) follows closely behind at 12-under, with Frenchman Julien Guerrier (69-64) in third place at 11-under.

Jorge Campillo (68-67) occupies fourth place at 9-under, alongside three Swedes: Linn Grant (67-68), Jesper Svensson (68-67), and Jens Danthorp (68-67).

Soderberg’s outstanding performance included seven birdies and an eagle in the first round, followed by four birdies and an eagle in the second, all achieved without a single bogey in 36 holes.

The Scandinavian Mixed tournament, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour, features 78 men and 78 women competing on the same course for one prize fund and trophy.
