Poonch

Condition of the roads in Poonch is very poor, and the district administration is not taking this issue seriously, nor are they taking action against the contractors who are awarded tenders but fail to construct the roads properly For instance, the condition of the Poonch to Mandi sawjian road has deteriorated to the extent that a journey that used to take only 15 to 20 minutes now takes about an hour due to the bad state of the roads.
The public has expressed their anger and appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch to take this matter seriously. They urge that action be taken against the contractors responsible for these roads and that the Deputy Commissioner personally visit the site and provide directions to the department.
