In a crucial update on security at the Line of Control, Inspector General of BSF Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav, confirmed that terrorists are poised at launch pads across the LoC, ready to infiltrate the Kashmir valley. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Yadav emphasized the heightened risk of infiltration attempts as winter approaches.
“There are always attempts to infiltrate before snowfall. We remain vigilant as there are still about two months, and infiltration chances persist through November,” he said. Yadav highlighted that terror groups aim to exploit the winter months, knowing their opportunities will diminish in the coming seasons.
The senior BSF officer reported a significant presence of terrorists at the launch pads opposite the Bandipora and Kupwara sectors. They await favorable conditions, particularly inclement weather, to make their move. “Attempts are always there, but we stand ready to counter any such efforts. Our security measures are robust,” Yadav added.
Yadav praised the cooperation between the Army and the BSF, noting that both forces dominate the LoC effectively with state-of-the-art surveillance equipment. “Together, we ensure a strategic advantage on the ground. So far this year, our combined efforts have thwarted two infiltration attempts, underlining our commitment to national security,” he stated.
Security forces are well-equipped to manage the challenges posed by these infiltration attempts. Yadav reiterated that new methodologies and advanced surveillance tools significantly enhance their operations. “Our alertness ensures that infiltrating our area of responsibility (AOR) is highly difficult for terrorists,” he added.
