Shiv Sena Dogra Front activists, led by party president Ashok Gupta, held a protest rally on Wednesday in Jammu against the alleged inverted display of the National Flag by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
During the rally, Gupta described the incident as a profound concern and urged authorities to initiate an inquiry and take necessary action as per the Flag Code of India and applicable laws. Gupta emphasized that the Tricolour symbolizes the unity and sovereignty of the nation and represents the sacrifices of freedom fighters and security personnel.
The protesters expressed that every citizen, regardless of political affiliation or public office, holds a duty to treat the National Flag with dignity and respect. They characterized the alleged display of the Tricolour upside down as a clear sign of disrespect and demanded a comprehensive investigation.
Gupta stressed that if any violation of the Flag Code or legal provisions is established, strict action should follow without discrimination. He remarked, “No individual is above the law, and the sanctity of the National Flag must be preserved at all times.”
Furthermore, he called upon political parties and public representatives to maintain utmost care while displaying the Tricolour, reiterating the need to uphold the dignity and values associated with it.
The protest garnered attention as participants shouted slogans honoring the National Flag. Among those who joined the protest were party workers Abhishek, Bittu, Ganesh, and others, showcasing their commitment to this national emblem.
