Senior PO Dismissed From Service, Not To be Re Employed Ever

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday dismissed Aijaz-Ul-Hassan, a senior Prosecuting Officer (PO) from government service over charges of corruption.

The government order stated that Hassan has been dismissed from service with immediate effect, in addition to being disqualified from any future government employment.

As per a government order, Hassan has been accused of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakhs from one Moulvi Mushtaq Ahmad in 2014.

“The bribe was allegedly taken in exchange for helping Moulvi Mushtaq Ahmad by not naming him as an accused in an FIR registered against his family members at Darhal police station in Rajouri,” reads the order.

The order states that an inquiry was initiated against Hassan after he failed to satisfactorily respond to the charges against him. “The inquiry officer’s report established that Hassan had agreed to return Rs 1 lakh out of the bribe amount he had accepted from Ahmad.”

“The report and recommendations of the inquiry officer were placed before the competent authority in the Home Department of the Jammu and Kashmir government. The competent authority approved the findings and recommendations to dismiss Hassan from government service, while also disqualifying him from future employment,” it states.
