Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday emphasized that a nation is not served by mere slogans or speeches but through the honest discharge of duties. He asserted that under his leadership, the state has transformed into a “growth engine” over the past eight years.
Speaking at an appointment letter distribution event for medical officers of the AYUSH department, Adityanath recalled how Uttar Pradesh was once labeled a ‘bimaru’ (sick) state. “It wasn’t the state that was sick, but the system. The previous governments’ flawed working methods rendered the state incapable of making decisions and delivering results,” he said.
He highlighted that today’s Uttar Pradesh operates with transparency, accountability, and honesty, leading to significant transformations in governance and economic development. He claimed that administrative reforms and efficient decision-making have propelled the state’s economy, making it a key driver of India’s growth.
Referring to the Maha Kumbh, Adityanath credited its success to the effective combination of teamwork and technology. He also spoke about the increasing global recognition of India’s traditional practices like yoga under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Today, 193 countries observe World Yoga Day, recognizing India’s ancient wisdom,” he noted.
The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of the AYUSH system, which, he said, focuses not just on treating diseases but on promoting a healthier and longer life. He added that Uttar Pradesh has been making strides in Ayurveda and homeopathy, with a growing number of dedicated hospitals in these fields.
“The service of the nation is not achieved through slogans and speeches. It is accomplished by fulfilling our responsibilities with dedication. Postponing work means failing in one’s duties,” Adityanath concluded.
