Surankote, October 23: Choudhary Mohd Akram, the sitting MLA of Surankote, visited the site of the Dhundak Bridge today to review the ongoing construction work. Accompanied by officials of R&B department including SE KK Attri, Xne Manoj Kumar, AEE Shafiq Ahmed & JEE Mukhtar Ahmed along with other members of the local administration, Choudhary Akram assessed the progress and urged the officials to expedite the completion of the project, highlighting the importance of the bridge for local connectivity.
During the visit, the MLA also inspected the alternate road being used by the local residents while the construction work is in progress. He stressed the need for the administration to address any issues with the temporary route to ensure smooth travel for the community. Responding to his concerns, the administration assured that the matter would be looked into immediately and improvements will be made by tomorrow.
Speaking at the site, Choudhary Mohd Akram said, “The Dhundak Bridge is a lifeline for the people of this area. I have instructed the administration to fast-track the work, so it can be completed at the earliest. At the same time, we are ensuring that the alternate route remains functional and safe for locals until the bridge is fully operational.”
The administration has committed to taking swift action on both fronts, and further reviews are expected in the coming days.
