Chandigarh, Sept 28, 2024: The Haryana Congress rolled out a detailed manifesto for the upcoming state assembly elections on October 5, with a series of promises aimed at boosting farmer welfare, employment, social justice, and the welfare of marginalized communities.

The manifesto was presented by Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot. The party highlighted seven previously announced guarantees, including legal assurance for Minimum Support Price (MSP), a caste survey, and Rs 500 gas cylinders, along with new promises aimed at comprehensive development.

Key Promises:

Farmers’ Welfare: Establishment of a Farmers’ Welfare Commission, diesel subsidies for small farmers, and recognition of 736 farmers who died during the farm law protests as “martyrs.”
Employment Generation: Focus on labor-intensive industries to boost employment, and a Rs 2 crore ‘Shaheed Samman Rashi’ for families of martyred soldiers, along with job guarantees for one family member.
Social Justice: Reconstitution of the Scheduled Caste Commission, Haryana Minority Commission, and the creation of Brahmin and Punjabi welfare boards.
Infrastructure and Education: New industrial policy and the creation of skill centers in Mewat to drive economic growth and education.
The Congress also vowed to dismantle the BJP’s Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) scheme and review other government portals that it claims have caused hardships. Moreover, it pledged to hike wages under MGNREGA and set up a fast-track court to handle job exam paper leaks.
