A grand celebration of International Yoga Day was organized today at the Sports Stadium, Surankote, under the overall supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Surankote, Mohammed Farooq Khan, attracting a large number of enthusiastic participants from all walks of life.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the public, with a significant turnout of students, government employees, members of civil society, security personnel, and local residents. The celebration aimed to promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of the community through the ancient practice of yoga.
The program commenced early in the morning with a mass yoga session led by trained instructors, who guided the participants through various asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques. The serene atmosphere of the Sports Stadium, coupled with the active participation of people of all age groups, created an inspiring environment for promoting health and harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Surankote lauded the spirit of the participants and emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life. He highlighted yoga as a valuable tool for stress management, overall well-being, and building a healthier society.
The event was organized with the support of various departments and local organizations, ensuring smooth arrangements and active participation. Special appreciation was extended to the yoga trainers, volunteers, and administrative staff for their dedication and coordination.
