Dry Weather Expected in Jammu and Kashmir Until May 27: MeT

Srinagar, May 18: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted generally dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir until May 27. According to the MeT office, there will be “no significant weather activity” during this period.

A hot and dry spell is expected to persist over the plains of the Jammu division. While there may be isolated thundershowers on Saturday and light rain with thunder at scattered places early Sunday morning, the weather is forecasted to remain dry from May 20 to 27.

The MeT office has advised farmers to resume their operations starting May 20.

Daytime temperatures in most areas of the Kashmir Valley were recorded at 2-5 degrees Celsius above normal on Friday, with the exception of Kupwara in north Kashmir. Nighttime temperatures were also about 1 degree Celsius above normal across the valley.

Srinagar recorded a low of 14.5 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam 7.5 degrees Celsius, and Gulmarg 11 degrees Celsius on Saturday, according to the MeT office.
