Srinagar, May 21, 2024: In a significant move to address the developmental needs of the region, DDC Member of Block Mankote, Jenab Ch. Imran Zaffar, held an effective meeting with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Sh. Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar. During the meeting, Ch. Imran Zaffar presented the genuine and basic demands of the people from Block Mankote and Sub Division Mendhar.
One of the primary issues highlighted was the dire need for improved road connectivity in the region. Ch. Imran Zaffar emphasized the plight of villages, particularly those in far-flung areas, which remain deprived of essential road infrastructure. The lack of connectivity has significantly hindered the socio-economic development of these villages, making it a crucial concern for local residents.
Additionally, Ch. Imran Zaffar underscored the need for the construction of stadiums in various panchayats within Block Mankote. These stadiums are envisioned to provide much-needed recreational and sporting facilities for the youth, foster community engagement, and promote a healthier lifestyle.
One of the most pivotal demands put forth during the meeting was the formation of a municipality for sub-division Mendhar. This administrative restructuring is seen as vital for better governance and more efficient delivery of services to the people of Mendhar.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Sh. Manoj Sinha attentively listened to the issues raised and assured Ch. Imran Zaffar of his commitment to addressing these developmental challenges.
