Chairman Jamia Masjid Surankote Abdul Hamid Manhas, Civil Society Demand Revival of Shopping Complex & Car Parking Project Near BDO Office Surankote SURANKOTE

SURANKOT 1 JULY 25 Chairman of Jamia Masjid Surankote, Abdul Hamid Manhas, along with members of the civil society of Surankote, has called on the district administration to revive the proposed shopping complex and car parking project near the BDO office in Surankote town.

The civil society representatives pointed out that this land was originally earmarked for a car parking and commercial complex during the tenure of former Deputy Commissioner Mr. Yasin Choudhary (IAS). The objective of the project was to address the worsening parking crisis and support commercial activity in the heart of Surankote.

Local leaders stressed that the location remains ideal for such development, and any change in the proposed use of this land would undermine the town’s future growth and traffic management.

> “We urge the present administration to respect the earlier developmental vision and restart the shopping complex and parking project near the BDO office without any further delay,” said Abdul Hamid Manhas. “This facility is vital for easing congestion and will benefit traders, visitors, and the general public.”

The delegation has appealed to the District Development Commissioner, SDM Surankote, and BDO Surankote to act swiftly and ensure that the land is utilized for its originally intended public use.
