Srinagar, Aug 25 (RNA): With just one day remaining left in the last date of nomination for the first phase, National Conference – Congress alliance has hit a huge road block with both parties unwilling to back off from Baramulla seat.
Earlier both parties had agreed to solve the issue by this afternoon but the issue seems to have snowballed into a huge confrontation between the two. Reliable sources have told RNA that even Congress High Command has been forced to intervene as National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has been showing unwillingness in giving away Baramulla seats.
If sources are to be believed National Conference has offered other few seats in North Kahsmir instead. But Congress seems to be unwilling to accept the offer.
Sources told RNA that Congress was not keen in taking Langeth and has also given up its claim on Uri but has put its foot down on Baramulla. The disagreement on the Baramulla seat has further delayed the release of the list of candidates even as the last date for the first phase ends on Tuesday. Both parties have now just one day left to finalise the deal and it is expected that both may reach some sort of agreement by tomorrow.
