Poonch, Sep 02: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Poonch, successfully organized district-level trials and selection events for Cricket and Volleyball in the under-17 and under-19 boys’ categories. Participants from all 11 zones of the district showcased their talents at the sports stadium in Poonch.
The event was conducted under the overall supervision of Shri Mool Raj Uttam, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Poonch. To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, a committee was formed with Parvez Ahmed Khan, a Physical Education Lecturer, as the convener. The committee members included Nanak Singh (PEM), Rajendra Singh Toofan (PET), Vijay Sharma (PEM), Gurvinder Singh (PET), Pervaiz Ahmed Malik (REK), Ajaz Ahmed (REK), Sachin Sharma (REK), Syed Talit Waseem (REK), Muzaffar Iqbal (REK), and Imtiaz Lone (REK).
For the Volleyball trials, the selection and technical committee comprised Majid Dar (PEM), Sanjay Sharma (PEM), Sorab Sharma (PEM), DK Raina (PET), Ghulam Abass (PET), and Shafqat Hussain Shah. The trials witnessed enthusiastic participation from various institutions, reflecting the district’s commitment to nurturing young sports talent.
